Pattiwela Primary School is a rural village in the Matale District. The School provides education to around 250 children in the Galewela area. Most current Children come from very poor backgrounds. We found that some children have both their parents abroad, leaving the children in the care of relatives. Other parents work as laborers earning a meagre living, not sufficient to even feed the children.
After carefully analyzing the scope of the requirement, AidToSchool has produced the following budget for the year 2014/2015. During these estimations the needs and requests from all 4 schools have been considered and included as part of the scope.
For this year we have been approached by 6 primary schools from different parts of the Sri Lanka. Same as last time, AidToSchools Sri Lankan representatives (volunteered) visited all 6 schools, to understand their needs more closely and to feel their issues personally. After receiving the feedback from this evaluation team, followed by a thorough assessment, AidToSchool has now decided to launch a project for the year 2014/2015, with the aim to help 4 selected schools.
Starting from the Pattiwella Primary School Project in year 2013, AidToSchools has been in to this humble effort with a determination, continuously backed by a bunch of big hearted people, filled with generosity and gentility. They have lent their hearts and hands in achieving this noble quest by donations and by various other means.
The situation of the children in Pattiwela College was brought to our attention by the principal Mr. U.G. Ranathunga. Here's what he had to say to our volunteer in Sri Lanka.
We have set the date for our BIG event “handing over the donations to the Pattiwela School children” on Saturday, the 15th of June 2013.
On a previous occasion we raised in excess of £2800 to help build a Hospital ward at the Karapitiya General Hospital in Galle, Sri Lanka..
